Reignited Concert in Aberdeen

Reignited is the follow up to Bucksburn & District Pipe Band’s phenomenal debut concert Fired Up from 2010. Reignited will host Inveraray & District Pipe Band as the main attraction, entertaining with an evening full of traditional and modern piping and drumming music.
Inveraray’s meteoric rise to the top of grade 1 in recent years has been a true inspiration to every pipe band worldwide, showing that home-grown talent can beat some of the best in the world. Inveraray and Bucksburn both hold firm key values for teaching from the grass roots up. Teaching youth to keep their organisations alive, in recent years, has blessed both bands with great success.
Join us for another magical night of piping and drumming in the Aberdeen Music Hall on the 10th of March 2012 from 7.30 onwards.

2011 so far…

The 2011 season has been good for both bands to date.
The “Wee Band” were promoted to the elite Juvenile grade this year following their successes in 2010.
And after losing their Pipe Major, Robert Stewart, who sadly died in the Spring, they have been a credit to the organisation.
Well done to them all and especially Daniel McDermott who stepped in as Pipe Major.
They have been placed in 3 of the 4 Majors so far this season coming 4th at the British, 3rd at the European and 4th at the Worlds.

The Grade 1 band went into the 2011 season hoping to consolidate their position in the top 6 following their 5th placing at Cowal 2010.
They didn’t disappoint coming 5th at the Scottish, 6th at the British, 3rd at the European and 4th at the Worlds.
They also won minor contests at Shotts (West of Scotland Championships), Ayr and Bridge of Allan.
The band were also invited to the Fete des Brodeuses in Pont d’Abbe, Brittany where their music was greatly appreciated.
Worlds week was a busy but successful one for the band which saw their quartet of Alasdair Henderson, Callum Beaumont, Finlay Johnston and Laura McMillan take first prize in the International Quartets contest. Sarah Muir won Pipe Idol and P/M Stuart Liddell won the Todd Recital Challenge and the Masters Invitational which gives him an invitation to the Glenfiddich Championship in the Autumn.
However, their greatest achievement was the band’s 4th place finish at the Worlds which gave the them their best ever result after what was probably their best two performances to date.
